Music Production
College
You are probably looking for information on
music production college because you
actually want to be in the music industry.
I am always running across individuals
who spend money to take courses on music production as a ticket
to the music business.
If this is your angle I want to caution you if you are an
artist. This technique works pretty well for producers but not
for singers or rappers.
As an artist it does not help your resume that you have a
degree in music engineering. Why?
Well the huge recording companies already have those type
people on staff. all they want is the next big Billboard chart
topper that will make them millions.
Going collegiate in music benefits you on the backend of
things. that means mixing, recording, audio
production and sound engineering.
Going and getting training on software and hardware
applications like the SSL Mixer or Pro Tools has proven to
payoff big time.
I have been producing since 1999 and I have yet to sell a
beat to a Berklee graduate that was a sound engineer and a
rapper or singer.
Stay true to your dreams and watch them come true. I surely
did and I'm living pretty good.
