The one thing a producer has to have in his or her tool kit are some great sounds. You can get away with using some standard sounds from a keyboard but not many Top Ranked producers do that.

Yeah, there are some hip hop producers that use them right out of a board but they are usually doing a simple SNAP track. If you want to stand out from a crowd of millions of other producers your sounds have to be on point.

Claps have to sharp and stacked, Kicks have to thump crisp and not muddy. Hi hats need to be rugged and not thin.

You get where this is going. I have been producing music since 1999 and I have racked up a ridiculous amount of Industry Standard Drums, Loops and other sounds. These are the sounds that has been on many number one Billboard Chart Toppers. They are the results of many super producers over a 10 year period sampling drums and sounds from analog pieces of equipment.
